The Young’s Cinema

Project Overview

The client sought to repurpose an underutilized games room into a multifunctional home cinema suitable for both movies and sporting events. Following a thorough assessment, measurements, and collaborative discussions, we formulated a comprehensive proposal and design. The primary goal was to maximize seating capacity while preserving an open and spacious ambiance. Recognizing the dual purpose of the room for entertainment and cinematic experiences, the inclusion of a bar was deemed essential.

The Design

The cinema design is centered around a 5.2.2 Dolby Atmos speaker configuration. Featuring an anamorphic acoustically transparent screen by Screen Excellence paired with a Sony VPL-760 4K Laser projector, the visual experience is nothing short of extraordinary. The front three MK 950 Loudspeakers and two 15″ MK CS15 Passive subwoofers are strategically positioned behind the screen. Overcoming the challenge posed by the room’s unique shape, MK Tripole surround speakers are cleverly placed between seating rows, with diffuser panels discreetly concealed behind fabric walling on the rear wall to enhance surround audio immersion. Atmos height speakers, seamlessly hidden behind acoustic ceiling panels, harmonize seamlessly with coffer ceiling lighting.

Using The Space Correctly

The previously neglected space at the rear has been transformed into a stylish bar, not only catering to beverages but also housing all cinema equipment, ensuring a seamless blend of functionality and aesthetics.
